Starter not engaging, or starter having trouble turning over?

Check your starter bushing! This small bushing holds the end of the starter while turning over the flywheel. Starter bushings typically last 20,000-30,000 miles, but should be inspected (along with your ground strap) once you notice hesitation from the starter.

Replacement can be done with the special puller tool, or threading a bolt into the bushing and pulling. Tap the new bushing in with a dowel and small hammer.
