Our TDI Starter adapter is a CNC machined billet aluminum adapter that includes all necessary mounting hardware and instructions. This adapter fits a 96-06 Jetta Manual trans TDI starter onto a VW Type 1 transmission, or a Bus 002 3-Rib or 5-Rib transaxle bellhousing. Great solution for dune buggies or kit cars with high horsepower engines.
This combo fits Beetle bodies but the post can be tight on the body. Early split window Bus generally requires some body/pan modification to clear starter post.
Works with 96-06 TDI Jetta Manual transmission starter - confirmed to work with Bosch, J&N, or Euromax brands. Some store-brand or house-brand starters do not have the correct nose to work with our adapters.
This fits 2-3/4 inch bell housing flange to starter flange distance. Measure if you are not sure.
