Grant 77mm 2.5x2.5x4mm cast top piston ring set for VW Type 1 engines with 77mm cylinders. Includes 4 piston ring sets. Alternate part numbers 981148B, 111198157A and P1094.

Tech Tip: The 2x2x4mm ring pack size was commonly used in 1300cc engines. The 2.5x2.5x4mm ring pack size was commonly used in 1200cc engines. Measure your ring pack size or piston ringland size to be sure.

the oil ring was the correct size, but the other two rings were too thick.

The 2.5x2.5x4mm ring pack size was mostly used in 1200cc engines, while the 2x2x4mm ring pack size was mostly used in 1300cc engines. Sounds like you needed the 2x2x4mm ring pack size for a 1300cc engine which are part numbers 981147B or 111198157B
