Single 40 HPMX IDF carburetor kit for VW type 1 engines. This kit is designed to run 1600 - 1800 CC engines. This carburetor makes torquey power and gives snappy throttle response. The 40 HMPX carburetor kit comes with a carburetor, intake manifold, heat risers, air cleaner, linkage gaskets and hardware. Empi single 40 HPMX or IDF-style carburetor kit for 1600-1800cc VW Type 1 engines. This kit is developed to work in VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Thing, and Bus with upright style Type 1 engines. Alternate part numbers 4773150, 47-7315-0, 47-7315.
The single center mounted carburetor kit is a good option for builds needing a little more power and airflow than a stock style carburetor but may not have space on either side of the engine bay, or want to protect the carburetor when off roading.
