DBW 0969 crankshaft endplay shim kit for 40-60HP VW Type 1 Engines. Fits 1966-79 Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Thing, Type 3, and 66-79 Bus with the upright Type 1 engine. This kit includes a pack of 6 of the most popular endplay shims.

1x 113-105-283A .30mm
1x 113-105-285A .32mm

Tech Tip: Endplay for VW Type 1 engines should be set to .003-006 inch or 0.07-0.15mm with a target of .004-.005 inch or 0.10-0.13mm. You must use three shims, and all shims must be free of burrs or rough spots. Endplay must be checked with flywheel torqued to spec at 230-250 ft/lbs. It is a good idea to add an extra shim, re-torque the flywheel, and verify there is no main bearing movement before continuing on to checking your endplay.
