Empi 8mm Stock Length Chromoly Head Stud Kit for Dual Port VW Beetle 00-4020-0

Empi 00-4020-0 stock length 8mm chromoly head stud kit for Dual Port VW Type 1 engines. These kits are used to replace head studs and hardware on dual port VW Type 1 engine cases with 8mm studs, or early engine cases that have been converted to late 8mm stud and dual port heads. This 8mm stud kit includes 4 x 185mm studs, 3 x 200mm studs, 9 x 235mm studs, 16 x M8 nuts and 16 x M8 head washers.

Fitment: This would originally fit 1972-on Beetle, 1972-on Karmann Ghia, 1972-on Type 3 1973-74 VW Thing, and VW-based dune buggies with 8mm head studs. VW Transitioned from 10mm studs to 8mm studs during the 1972-73 years so make sure check your engine case.

Tech Tip these were originally installed into factory mounted case savers. Torque 8mm head nuts first to 7 ft-lbs, then finish to 18 ft-lbs.
