Ampri Bus Steering Box for 1973-79 Type 2 Bus Made in Brazil 211415049H

This steering box has no markings to indicate dead center like the factory ZF box does. There is no way to install knowing the box is on dead center and no markings to indicate this. Steering boxes must be installed when they are on dead center or there will be play in the steering. Read the Bentley VW manual. This box also is missing the rubber protector on the shaft that hooks up the the steering coupler. All other aftermarket bixes have them and also the factory ZF box does. This will cause water intrusion into the box when installed.I have not installed due to these issues. I do not recommend this box.Unfortunately there are very few other options available for the 73-79 vw bus. The factory ZF 73-79 boxes are not able to be rebuilt and there are no available parts to rebuild them.
