Empi 10mm Stock Length Chromoly Head Stud Kit for Dual Port VW Beetle 00-4009-0

Empi 00-4009-0 stock length chromoly head stud kit for Dual Port VW Type 1 engines. These kits are used to replace head studs and hardware on dual port VW Type 1 engine cases with 10mm studs, or early 10mm engine cases that have been converted to dual port heads. This 10mm stud kit includes 4 x 185mm studs, 3 x 200mm studs, 9 x 235mm studs, 16 x M10 nuts and 16 x M10 head washers.

Fitment: This would originally fit 1971-72 Beetle, 1971-72 Karmann Ghia, 1971 Bus, and VW-based dune buggies with 10mm head studs. VW Transitioned from 10mm studs to 8mm studs during the 1972-73 years so make sure check your engine case.

Tech Tip these were originally installed directly into the threaded case. For strongest install we always recommend installing case savers, then head studs. Torque 10mm head nuts first to 7 ft-lbs, then finish to 23 ft-lbs.
