Pat Downs Performance offers their new Shockwave HEI ignition kit for air cooled VW engines. Features all in one system with Shockwave billet distributor, high output HEI coil, 8mm low resistance silicone spark plug wires, distributor mount, and adjustable distributor advance springs and bushings.
Features 40kv of ignition power.
Compatible with external ignition boxes, both programmable and non-programmable.
Plug-and-play ignition module does not require external boxes.

Works good once installed as far as quality. In my opinion its best for dual carb or stock carb engines with electric fuel pumps, as far as fitment. I am running the Egas 2 barrel setup with a mechanical fuel pump and the distributer is to big in diameter to fit with the carburetor support brace down to the fuel pump. I had to modify my existing brace to work and everything is pretty tight around the fuel pump with all the lines, the brace, etc. Just my opinion if you run an electric pump and dual carbs it would be alot better as far as fitment is concerned. Plus a stock lengh plug wire along with the extra long wire would be helpful, for people who plan to use the stock coil location, and dont have proper wire crimping tools to cut the extra long plug wire.
