Air cooled oil pumps are identified with two common nicknames: Flat cam or Dished cam oil pumps. Flat camshafts have 3-bolts/rivets and were originally used in early engines up to 1970. Dished camshafts have 4 rivets and were originally used in 1971-later engines.
