IMI starters are an excellent option for performance VW engines in street, race and off road applications.
This IMI-101 is compatible with all 12 Volt VW Type 1 Sedan transaxles, Type 2 3-rib transaxles and Type 2 5-rib transaxles. This version is the super high torque for high compression race engines.
Get the right starter: Make sure you match your starter to your transmission. If you have a VW Type 1 IRS, Swing Axle, bus 3-rib or bus 5-rib you need an IMI-101. If you have a 6-rib 091 bus transmission you need an IMI-104.
