Replace your worn out points style 009 distributor with this high quality electronic ignition unit from Pertronix. These distributors feature electronic ignition which takes the place of points. This eliminates point adjustment and allows for a smoother running engine. This unit uses an aftermarket VW 009 distributor housing, which means that factory cap and rotors are retained for easy servicing.
This unit is compatible with all carbureted VW Type 1, Type 3 and Type 4 engines.

Please note: These distributors require a coil with greater than 3.0 ohms of resistance. A coil with less resistance will cause the internal electronics to overheat and fail. Compatible coils include the Bosch Blue coil, Beru Blue coil and Pertronix 3.0 ohm Flame Thrower. (40501 or 40511)
